The Challenge

As Nexteer expanded globally, translating documents in-house became increasingly unsustainable. With hundreds of documents requiring translation into multiple languages every month, the process consumed valuable time and internal resources.


Security was a major concern—free online translation tools posed risks for proprietary automotive content, including sensitive product names, sub-systems, and acronyms. Simultaneously, maintaining formatting integrity for PowerPoint and Word documents created additional rework.


Translation quality was also inconsistent. Nexteer's internal review found that while machine translations offered speed, they often fell short on accuracy and fluency, especially for technical terminology and product-specific content. Pages frequently required manual edits, putting added pressure on multilingual team members. Nexteer needed a scalable solution that balanced speed, accuracy, and data security without overextending its teams or budget.

The Approach

Nexteer partnered with Pairaphrase to modernize its translation workflow. The transition was seamless, and the platform’s user-friendly interface enabled team members to begin translating files without requiring technical support or extensive training.

Pairaphrase offered a secure, cloud-based translation management system that met Nexteer’s needs for confidentiality and collaboration. Users could quickly upload files, translate in real-time, and preserve original formatting—streamlining internal processes for Word and PowerPoint documents in particular.

Nexteer continues to rely on the platform for essential document translation. Despite not fully leveraging advanced features like model training, Nexteer still experiences significant benefits in workflow efficiency and document quality.

The Results

Since implementing Pairaphrase, Nexteer has seen measurable improvements in time, cost, and process efficiency.

Although Nexteer continues to perform final proofreading internally—particularly for Mandarin translations—the platform ensures that documents retain their structure and are delivered in a near-final state. This allows native speakers to focus on fine-tuning instead of re-translating, significantly reducing the time burden.

The feedback from a Mandarin-speaking colleague noted room for improvement in product-specific terminology, but also confirmed that the platform provides a solid foundation for professional, in-house refinements.

Most importantly, Pairaphrase has freed up Nexteer's teams to focus on higher-value work, enhancing productivity across departments and reinforcing the company’s global communication strategy.
