Hello, and welcome to today’s webinar, “Simplifying Secure Access to Pairaphrase: Single Sign-On with Google, ClassLink, and Okta.” I’m Candace Chapman, Head of Marketing. Thank you for joining us today.

I think you’ll be glad you did. You’ll come away with three options to streamline your login to Pairaphrase. We’ll be guided by our product expert, Florencia Russo. You may know her as Flor. She is our Customer Success Manager here at Pairaphrase and will walk you through the options.

Let me introduce Flor and share a little about her background. Flor is a certified Spanish-English translator and a graduate of the National University of La Plata in Argentina. She specializes in technical translation for the automotive, oil and gas, and technology sectors.

A self-proclaimed tech enthusiast, her passion for technology began at age 15. Using a Compaq Deskpro 386 computer and BASIC programming, she created her first computer-assisted dictionary, combining her love of language and innovation.

Since 2017, Flor has delivered courses and workshops on digital tools for translators, sharing practical insights with local and international audiences. She served three years as President and is currently Vice President of the Board of the Association of Certified Translators of La Plata, where she also teaches a full course on technology and AI for translators.

Her work bridges language and technology, helping translators enhance efficiency and quality through smart use of digital tools. Of course, she is also our amazing team member who has helped many of you make the most of Pairaphrase. Please welcome Flor.

Thank you. Hello, everybody. Thank you, Candace. It’s great to be here again with you.

Today we are going to talk about some important Pairaphrase features that help you streamline and smooth your processes by using single sign-on.

• What single sign-on is and what changes when authentication is centralized.
• The three single sign-on options available in Pairaphrase: Google Workspace, ClassLink, and Okta.
• Potential issues you may see from time to time and how to troubleshoot them.

What Is Single Sign-On?

Florencia Russo:

Single sign-on is the ability of a system to provide authentication in one centralized way. Pairaphrase uses that authentication information to let an authorized user log in without entering a separate Pairaphrase password every time.

The user starts with an organization-controlled account, whether that is Google Workspace, ClassLink, or Okta. The identity provider verifies the user’s identity. Pairaphrase then trusts that authentication and opens the application for the authorized user.

This is important because it reduces the number of passwords users need to remember. When we use several applications, remembering every password can be a nightmare. Single sign-on helps avoid that.

It also supports faster onboarding, compliance with central organizational policies, cleaner offboarding, consistent access, and less support friction in common scenarios such as forgotten passwords.

Single Sign-On Options in Pairaphrase

Pairaphrase offers three different identity systems, and you can choose the one that best fits your organization’s policies:

Option 1: Google Workspace SSO

Florencia Russo:

Google Workspace is a great option when users already work inside a managed Google Workspace environment. Users connect their profile and then sign in with the same Workspace identity.

Google Workspace User Experience

Once the owner has completed the configuration, users go to the Pairaphrase sign-in page and enter their usual email address and Pairaphrase password.

The first time, Pairaphrase verifies that password. After verification, the user is automatically redirected to Google for authentication. The account is then linked to the user’s Google SSO account.

From then on, the user can authenticate through Google SSO and does not need to go into their Pairaphrase profile to set anything up manually. It is a very simple way to go.

Common Google Workspace SSO Issues

Here are a few common issues that may appear when using Google Workspace SSO:

Remember that Pairaphrase shows recent SSO sessions in the user profile, so you can confirm whether activity is reaching the account.

Option 2: ClassLink LaunchPad

Florencia Russo:

The second identity system you can use to log in to Pairaphrase without using passwords is ClassLink LaunchPad.

ClassLink is designed for K-12 environments. Admins publish Pairaphrase in LaunchPad, configure SAML, and assign the app to everyone who uses Pairaphrase. This may include staff, schools, teachers, secretaries, or anyone else who needs access.

Users can click the Pairaphrase icon directly in LaunchPad. ClassLink authenticates the account, and Pairaphrase opens automatically. From there, users can upload a document and begin translating.

This is easy to use because no separate Pairaphrase password is required after the user’s first login.

ClassLink First-Time Login

For the initial setup, users should go to app.pairaphrase.com and sign in using their email address and password.

Once the password is verified, the user is redirected to ClassLink, and the ClassLink identity is automatically linked to the existing Pairaphrase account. From then on, the user can open Pairaphrase directly from the LaunchPad tile without entering a Pairaphrase password.

This first login is important. If you click the ClassLink tile before completing the first-time login, you will probably receive an error message saying that your account exists, but the token does not match or has not been set up yet.

Remember: first log in with your email address and password. After that, you can use the Pairaphrase icon in LaunchPad.

Option 3: Okta SSO

Florencia Russo:

Finally, Pairaphrase also supports Okta SSO. Okta is an identity platform used by many organizations, and Pairaphrase is available in the Okta Integration Network as a SAML integration.

That means IT admins can deploy the app and apply Okta access policies. This is very simple for users because they can launch Pairaphrase directly from Okta through an identity-provider-initiated flow.

Okta centralizes identity. Pairaphrase is listed in the Okta Integration Network, which allows users to use Okta authentication and be sent to Pairaphrase without maintaining another Pairaphrase password for that SSO flow.

Remember that security controls live in the identity provider, Okta in this case, and translation permissions still live in Pairaphrase.
