Pairaphrase is a software development company. We develop secure, AI-powered translation software products used by enterprises and public-sector organizations to translate sensitive content safely and efficiently. We help organizations overcome language barriers while maintaining strict data security and compliance.

We have two products: Pairaphrase and now we are expanding our product ecosystem with PairaVoice, a HIPAA and FERPA-compliant mobile application that uses speech recognition and translation to help healthcare and education professionals communicate with patients across languages.

Role overview

We’re looking for a UX/UI Lead Designer who loves experimentation, challenges conventions, and pushes product and marketing design forward.

This role is ideal for someone who likes testing bold ideas, enjoys rapid prototyping, isn’t afraid to rethink standard UX patterns, and believes great design can simplify complex software. Who can take data and design solutions.

You will define and lead the design language across the entire Pairaphrase ecosystem, including the Pairaphrase web platform, the PairaVoice mobile app, and our product websites.

Design taste

We are looking for a designer with exceptional product taste.

You care deeply about typography, spacing, hierarchy, and visual clarity. You notice the small details that make experiences feel polished and intentional.

You understand modern product design standards and believe that great design builds trust and credibility with users.

Key responsibilities

Design leadership & strategy

• Define and maintain a cohesive design system and design language
• Ensure consistent UX across web, mobile, and websites
• Lead UX direction for new features and product expansions
• Establish design standards, documentation, and reusable components 

Product experience (Pairaphrase web app)

• Improve usability for enterprise translation workflows
• Simplify interfaces for translation, editing, collaboration, and reporting
• Design intuitive experiences for multilingual environments 

Mobile experience (PairaVoice)

• Lead UX for voice recognition and translation workflows
• Design speech-to-text and translation interfaces
• Ensure usability in fast-paced healthcare environments 

Innovation & experimentation

• Prototype new interaction models
• Run UX experiments and usability testing
• Explore modern UX patterns such as AI workflows and voice interfaces
• Simplify complex workflows wherever possible 

Website & Conversion Design

The UX/UI Lead Designer will also be responsible for the visual direction and user experience of Pairaphrase’s marketing websites.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing high-performing landing pages
• Guiding users through conversion funnels
• Optimizing pages for demo requests and free trials
• Collaborating with marketing on campaign pages
• Conducting A/B testing and UX experiments
• Improving user flows from website → signup → product onboarding

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of UX/UI design experience
• Experience designing SaaS or enterprise applications
• Strong portfolio showing complex web and mobile applications
• Experience building or leading a design system
• Expertise with tools such as Figma
• Strong understanding of accessibility and responsive design
• Experience working closely with engineering teams

Preferred qualifications

• Experience designing AI-driven applications
• Experience with voice interfaces
• Experience with healthcare or HIPAA-compliant software
• Understanding of multilingual UX and right-to-left languages
• Experience designing conversion-focused SaaS websites
