FAQ
What is Pairaphrase for Canva?
Pairaphrase for Canva helps teams translate designs directly inside Canva. It connects visual design work to Pairaphrase translation management features, including translation memory, glossaries, language selection, and supported translation engines.
What do I need to use Pairaphrase for Canva?
You need a Canva account, access to the Pairaphrase Canva app, and a valid Pairaphrase API key. The API key connects the Canva app to your Pairaphrase account.
How do I connect Pairaphrase to Canva?
Open the Pairaphrase app in Canva and go to the Settings tab. Enter your Pairaphrase API key, then click Save & Validate. Once the API key is validated, you can start translating Canva design content.
Where do I enter my Pairaphrase API key?
In the Pairaphrase app inside Canva, open the Settings tab. Paste your API key into the Pairaphrase API key field and save it. If you do not have an API key, contact your Pairaphrase administrator or support contact.
Can I translate all text in a Canva design?
Yes. Use Translate all to translate all supported text elements in the current Canva design. You can choose the source language, target language, and translation engine before running the translation.
Can I translate only selected text?
Yes. Select one or more text elements in your Canva design, then use Translate selected. This is useful when you only need to translate part of a design or want to test a smaller section before translating the full design.
What languages are supported?
Available languages depend on the translation engines and Pairaphrase configuration available to your account. In the app, choose the source and target languages before translating.
Can I choose the translation engine?
Yes. The app includes a translation engine selector so you can choose from the supported engines available for your Pairaphrase account.
Does Pairaphrase for Canva use translation memory?
Yes. Pairaphrase for Canva supports translation memory workflows. You can save approved translation segments to translation memory and reuse them later to improve consistency across multilingual Canva designs.
How do I save a translation segment to translation memory?
After translating content, open Session History. Choose a previous translation segment and select Save to TM. The saved segment can then be found in the applicable language-pair translation memory, such as en/es, where it can be reused in future translation work.
Can I upload a TMX file?
Yes. The app supports TMX upload for translation memory workflows. After uploading a TMX file, you can search translation memory segments and use saved translations where applicable.
Does the app support glossaries?
Yes. Pairaphrase for Canva supports glossary workflows to help teams keep preferred terminology consistent across multilingual designs. If no glossary is available for your account or language pair, the app may show that no glossaries were found.
Can I translate a full Canva design as a document?
Yes. Pairaphrase for Canva includes a full-document workflow that exports the design and translates it as a DOCX file.
What should I do if the app says my API key is invalid?
Check that the API key was copied correctly and that there are no extra spaces before or after it. If the key still does not validate, contact your Pairaphrase administrator or support contact to confirm that the key is active and authorized for the Canva integration.
Why are some design elements not translated?
Pairaphrase for Canva is designed to translate supported text elements. Text that is part of an image, locked design element, unsupported element type, or embedded graphic may not be available for translation in the app.
Can I review translations before using them?
Yes. You can use Session History to review previous translation results, apply prior translations, and save approved segments to translation memory for future reuse.
Is Pairaphrase for Canva intended for professional translation workflows?
Yes. The app is designed for teams that need more than one-off translation. It helps connect Canva design translation to managed multilingual workflows using translation memory, glossaries, supported translation engines, and full-document translation options.
